ANNONSØRINNHOLD

Head of Engineering

Teston - We take the hassle out of user testing

We needed a tool to quickly and easily get feedback from people like you, and we couldn’t find anything good enough out there. So we built one ourselves! Our team has a strong background in building digital products, gained by experience working in leading startups and agencies in Norway such as Nabobil and Netlife Design.

Our culture is collaborative, autonomous, accountable, and efficient. We’re a small team, meaning everyone works hard and takes ownership of results. We value transparency, and we are open about how we work, what we're working on, what we care about, and evaluating new ideas together. Our team culture is human-centric, and we value diversity and inclusion – whether we interact with you in person, remotely, or through our products, we want you to feel our sense of community.

We ensure research and insight drives everything we do. We're not afraid of failing and we take risks to innovate.

What you'll be doing:

You’ll be leading a team of 5-6 engineers, and will be responsible for the team’s development, along with spearheading internal projects. User-centrism, a basic understanding of design, detail orientedness, and a strong comfort level with impactful decision making will all be an asset to your role. UX and Developers work closely together to reach the best product outcomes.

What we're looking for:

We’re looking for a Senior developer who is happy to do hands-on work. Diverse experience working with a lot of different technologies at different levels of complexity is highly preferred.

As the Head of Engineering, we expect you to have experience with scaling technology, especially web solutions, and designing complex architecture. We expect you to understand how containers work and their limitations, and are ideally familiar with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, or any others. Experience with SaaS technology development is an absolute must.

You need experience with back-end development, and ideally you have a strong understanding of front-end development as well, plus working with languages and frameworks like Golang and Vue. You should be familiar with distributed systems and microservices, and should have experience with different database types (Relational, document oriented, and graph based). Experience with cloud providers will also be an asset to your role.

You will need experience working on product/tech strategy (short, medium and long term), and an ability to consistently map tech decisions to overall business objectives. We appreciate people who look at a problem from multiple angles and perspectives before drawing conclusions.

Experience leading and scaling a team is strongly desired. Big bonus points for direct experience working with Golang, Vue.js and Google Cloud platform. Even more points if you have a Design/UX, or HCI background, too.
