We are hiring!

With the launch of Echova, Magseis Fairfield is looking for a Software Engineer who can work in a team environment to develop high-quality software solutions, preferably with experience in the review and debugging of software code.

You will be a key member of a Global team of highly capable software engineers, responsible for developing the next generation of ocean bottom seismic solutions.

Your main responsibilities will be to produce, debug and implement functional software solutions. You will be part of a highly skilled and tight-knit team where every engineer makes a significant impact on the end product, we also have good work life balance making your environment welcoming and fun.

Main tasks & responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality software solutions
  • Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
  • Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
  • Review and debug code
  • Perform validation and verification testing
  • Collaborate with internal users to improve products
  • Assist in developing user manuals and any other technical information
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at a time


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.


  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with selected programming languages (C and C++)
  • Experience with PHP, JavaScript, Python, Rust, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Postgresql or other relational databases
  • Familiarity with the Linux operating systems
  • Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team
  • Excellent organizational skills

Preferred qualification

  • Adept in critical thinking and problem solving with the ability and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work in an ever changing and dynamic environment.
  • Experience in seismic data acquisition would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with Cloud computing, preferably Microsoft Azure

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel may be required for this position.
